FAA Correspondence Study

Procedures Outline

Employees with access to the Internet and FAA e-Mail system can use the FAA Academy's Online Web-Based System. To access the system go to:

  • The FAA Academy Website at http://www.academy.faa.gov/
  • Click on the Distance Learning link
  • Click on the Correspondence Study link.
    or
  • Go directly to the Correspondence Study Webpage at https://www.academy.jccbi.gov/ama310c.

    Once at the Correspondence Study Webpage, use the Online Web-Based System to:

  • Register as a student
  • Change/update your personal information
  • Search course information
  • Enroll in any FAA Correspondence Study course
  • Request final exam materials
  • Input end-of-lesson test(s) and final exam answers
  • Check status of your enrollments link
  • Check end-of-lesson test(s) and final exam scores.


    Enrolling:

    As an FAA employee, you can enroll in any Correspondence Study course using the FAA Academy's online enrollment system.

    Before you begin the online enrollment process:

  • You must provide your supervisor's name and e-Mail address.
  • Complete the registration process.
  • Once registered, you can complete the enrollment process pending supervisor's approval. (E-Mail will automatically be sent to your supervisor requesting approval.)
  • Once approved, an e-Mail message will be sent to you and the course material mailed.


    End-of-Lesson Test(s):

    After the end-of-lesson test(s) has been completed:

  • Input answers via the online system
  • Receive grade immediately
  • Score recorded.


    Final Exam:

    Your supervisor can request the final exam materials and will be mailed:

  • Final exam
  • Envelope and instructions for returning the final exam.

    NOTE: A bubble answer sheet will not be mailed. If an additional sheet of paper is used to record the answers before entering online, return that sheet of paper with the final exam. (The end-of-course critique will not be mailed. It is to be completed online.)

    Once the final exam is completed, students can:

  • Input answers via the online system
  • Receive grade immediately. The online system will update training histories in CPMIS with completion date and grade.
