This course introduces participants to the structure and function of United States embassies and consulates overseas. It is designed to assist them in working successfully in a diplomatic environment. The course segments are designed to make participants more productive and effective members of the embassy team by helping them to prepare for their first overseas assignments. Required Audience: All U.S. government personnel who are the security responsibility of the Secretary of State on official duty overseas who will spend 30 days or more in a 12-month period overseas. This applies to personnel who are either transferring under PCS, on TDY, in a REA, or DETO status.
