| This session covers important concepts pertaining to the acquisition and initial forensic examination of an Android device. The Nook Color from Barnes & Noble is not explicitly supported by many of the major commerical forensic products; therefore, examiners must work a little harder to obtain data. More than just an e-reader, the Nook Color is a tablet that uses the popular Android operating system (based on a Linux kernel). In addition to electronic books, the Nook Color supports up to 32 GB of storage and can run Android applications including a Web browser. The concepts covered in this session may be extended to many portable devices that use the same or similar technology. Recommended prerequisite knowledge: Fundamental of acquisition and imagaing of digital media; basic digital forensic examination concepts. | |||
