COURSE 2009-10-28
This course provides knowledge and skill for General Aviation Operations Inspectors, (GA OPS ASI) to become familiar with a technically advanced (TAA) glass cockpit airplane in a flight-training environment (FTD). The training emphasizes the advanced technology Garmin 1000 as well as hands on training in a Baron (G58) multi-engine AATD, desktop trainers, and a Cessna Mustang (CE-510) flight-training device (FTD). The Inspector will complete ground and flight training scenarios to the commercial/instrument practical test standards. This course is for GA OPS ASIs not current in the AFS Flight Program or without a valid (not current) flight physical (FAA medical). GA OPS ASIs who are current in the AFS Flight program with an unexpired flight physical (minimum Class II medical) should not take this course, but instead should attend course 18830 (which is mandatory for this Inspector specialty). Audience: GA Operations Inspectors (GA ASI OPS), Front Line (OPS) Managers, or others as appropriate, without a current FAA medical certificate who require knowledge of general aviation aircraft with advanced avionics technology (TAA) used in Part 91 and Part 135.
