INACTIVE. This is Part I of two courses that are required for manufacturing and maintenance designees who certify engines, propellers, and articles. Part I is web-based. Lessons are FAA Designee Introduction; Introduction to Laws and Regulations; Introduction to FAA Policy and Regulations; Introduction to Airworthiness Designees; Conformity Inspection; Domestic Approval of Aircraft Engines, Propellers, and Articles; Export of Aircraft Engines, Propellers, and Articles. Students must score 70% on Post-Test to receive credit for this course. Average completion time is 10-15 hours. Target Audience(s): FAA advisors must complete this online course via eLMS. Manufacturing and maintenance designees must register for this online course through the Designee Registration System, https://av-info.faa.gov/DsgReg/ Notes: FAA advisors and designees must register separately for Initial Aircraft Engines, Propellers, and Articles Certification for Manufacturing Part II (title), a 2 day classroom seminar. This course is intended for manufacturing and maintenance designees and consists of three hands-on projects in which students perform designee job tasks such as a conformity inspection and completing application packages for export of Class I, II, and III products. Students must complete all projects to receive credit for this course. To enroll in Seminar, FAA advisors should contact their AIR Training Manager. Designees should register through the Designee Registration System, select the appropriate Seminar and desired Location/Date for more detailed information.
