In May 2010, President Obama announced his plans to streamline the federal hiring process in an Executive memorandum to the heads of agencies and departments. The Presidents memorandum included a requirement that Federal agencies provide hiring managers training on effective, efficient, and timely ways to recruit and hire well qualified individuals. As part of the government-wide Hiring Reform requirement to train managers on the hiring process, the FAA Hiring Process and Hiring Reform for Managers eLMS training course is designed to: provide a high-level overview of government-wide Hiring Reform; describe the staffing planning and job analysis components and developing an effective job opportunity announcement; identify the roles and responsibilities in rating, evaluating and issuing certificates; and define the benefits of an effective onboarding program focused on engaging employees and the hiring managers role in this final step of the hiring process. | |||
