FAA05705 Cancelled
(05705) PRINCIPLES OF PLAIN LANGUAGE: Advanced-Custom Instructor Led
COURSE 2011-06-06
This is the live, one-day custom course for offices that want special plain language training about their most important work. The course takes documents or webpages from your office and shows your staff how to turn those into plain language. We can use correspondence, policies, technical documents, newsletters or anything you choose. We'll review the Federal Plain Language Guidelines, the FAA Plain Language Toolkit and what you must do to comply with FAA writing policy and Federal Plain Language Law. The course is for all FAA staff and contractors who communicate, write and review documents or web content. It generally runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, but can be any schedule you request. For example, some offices ask for a morning session from 9:00am to noon, and then repeat that for other staff from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. It may sound like a lousy way to spend a day, but this course is set up to be an intense recreational experience. It's a fun way to learn a new skill that will improve your daily life and that of your customers and co-workers. You'll look at and use words differently than you ever did before. Note: You must contact the FAA Plain Language Program Office to get a certified instructor for this course. Contact Bruce Corsino at 202-493-4074 or email, bruce.corsino@faa.gov
