This course provides training for Specialists on the Airport Surface Detection Equipment - Model X (ASDE-X) and includes the SMRI Surface Movement Radar. This course includes, 46 hours Academy Lecture, 98 hours Academy Lab, with 24 hours required to complete 89042001 (RD132). The DoP is taken after successful completion of this course and is included in course hours. System key performance and certification parameters that are not tested in DoP will individually be tested and graded in lab during the course. Instruction will include the use of applicable Maintenance Handbooks, Maintenance Requirements, Standards and Tolerance, Intervals, etc.; Use of TPR S and Certification Procedures including Intervals, exceptions and Log Statement (s). Lecture subjects include System Operations, Multilateration, Remote Monitoring, Tower Displays, Processing Subsystems, SMRR Hardware Interface Components, Transmitter/Receiver, Antenna, Radar Data Processor (RDP), Maintenance and Troubleshooting.
