This is an 80-hour self-paced Blackboard training course. This course is for specialists, support, and developmental personnel. Subjects include Transmission Line Theory, Standing Wave Pattern, Transmission Line Impedance, Quarter-Wavelength Transformers, Single-stub Impedance Matching, Balance-to-Unbalance Transformations, Transmission Line Bridges, Antenna Pairs with Equal Antenna Currents, Antenna Pairs with Unequal Antenna Currents, Specific Antenna Pairs, and Multiple Antenna Pairs and the Image Antenna. The learner must be proficient in basic algebra and trigonometry, as well as performing calculations on a scientific calculator. A scientific calculator is required for the course; a TI-36X or Casio FX-115ES Plus is recommended. For information about exams for this course, see the Special Instructions in FIST.
