COURSE 2007-12-04
This training course consists of 4 hrs of classroom instruction and 4 hours of site specific training which includes training on the direct-reading instrument for atmospheric monitoring of PRCS. Upon completion of the classroom training the student shall possess the knowledge and skills to: (1) understand the regulatory requirements outlined in OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.146; (2) recognize & evaluate confined spaces; (3) understand ventilation and air monitoring techniques; (4) recognize prohibited conditions; and (5) understand general safety requirements as applied to confined spaces. The site-specific training shall establish employee proficiency in: (1) the Alaskan Region Alternate Entry Procedures; (2) site specific hazards and entry operations; (3) SMO policies and procedures; and (4) the operation, maintenance and calibration of the direct-reading instrument used for atmospheric monitoring of Alaskan Region PRCS.
