COURSE 2012-01-26
**Course replaced by 21000182** The purpose of this training is to provide Flight Standards Aviation Safety Inspectors (ASIs) the knowledge of the GA AW Airman Practical Application Workshop. This course, which covers applicable Parts of 14 CFR 65 Airman Certification, (Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics, Part 65.71, Inspection Authorization, Part 65.91, Repairman, Part 65. 101, Light Sport, Part 65.107, Amateur Built, Part 65.104, and Parachute Rigger Part 65.111) with two major components: a knowledge-based component and a performance-based component. The knowledge-based component is primarily in a lecture and discussion format. It comprises a review of information from the prerequisite GA AW Airman WBT including ASI guidance from FAA Order 8900.1. During the performance-based component, participants will apply their knowledge to a series of practical exercises. These exercises will allow participants to experience the tasks involved in certification and surveillance activities related to the technical topics covered in the prerequisite GA AW Airman WBT. This training supports the Curriculum Transformation Initiative by leading to a blended-learning indoctrination string. This course is in support of the web-based courses that have already been accomplished by the inspector in their home office.
