This course is for Specialists, Engineers, Managers, and support personnel on Second Generation Very High frequency (VHF) OMNIRANGE Tactical Air Navigation (VORTAC) Hardware. This is an 80-hour web-based (Blackboard) course. Subjects include introduction of VORTAC and INPUT/OUTPUT terminal (IOT) screens; theory of power subsystems, VOR transmitter, GONIONMETER, monitor and ground check, tactical aircraft control and navigation (TACAN) transponder, power amplifier, monitor and power supply; RHO THETA antenna (RTA)-2 antenna speed control unit, facility central processing unit (FCPU) and remote monitor control-flight (RMC-F) service station.
