Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Range (DVOR)Equipment Course 40261

DESCRIPTION

This seven-day course provides training for technicians on the Second Generation VOR modified to Doppler Cardion DME, Type FA-9996. The course is 40% Academy lecture and 60% Academy laboratory. Lecture subjects include break-down of Doppler drawer, antennas, and transmitter and monitor screens. Laboratory subjects include screens, alignments, adjustments, preventive maintenance, and fault isolation.

OBJECTIVES

Given the Manufacturer’s Instruction Book TI-6820.2 (MIB), the FAA Maintenance Order 6820.7B, appropriate test equipment, FAA Academy Instruction Manuals, and an FA-9996 system, the participant will be able to, in accordance with the MIB and the FAA Maintenance Order:
  • Identify the DVOR system layout and reference designations.
  • Perform equipment performance checks and adjustment and alignment procedures.
  • Perform corrective maintenance and restoration procedures.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course provides training for electronic technicians and engineers progress-ing into technical positions having responsibility for operating, maintaining, and certifying/verifying normal operation of Navigational Aids.
